The City of Birmingham Synchronised Swimming Club is one of the biggest and most successful synchronised swimming clubs in the Midlands.
The club offers youngsters who are already proficient swimmers the chance to specialise in synchro, an Olympic sport that is growing in popularity. The club has girls and boys from 8 years of age upwards at all levels from introductory to national. It’s a competitive club and enters teams for age categories from 12 & under to 18 & over in at least 3 competitions each year.
While taking part in competitions provides focus and motivation, the benefits of training for synchro are much more far reaching. It encourages team spirit and promotes a healthy lifestyle as well as developing a high level of aerobic fitness and flexibility. Synchronised swimmers must be strong yet graceful, have stamina and determination and be able to interpret and perform to music.
The club is based at Stechford Cascades and trains there and at three other pools in Birmingham. It welcomes both boys and girls, the only prerequisites are that they are already proficient swimmers in front & back crawl and breast stroke as well as having a positive attitude and commitment to regular training.
